Best Lumber History

Best Lumber launches its new website to better serve the needs of Yucaipa and area.

We chose Orgill Inc. out of Tennessee as our Co-op. Orgill is the largest independent distributor for hardware and hardware-related products in the USA. Orgill's pricing was more competitive than the other hardware store chains, which allowed us to offer better pricing and larger selections for our homeowner and contractor customers.

Expanded the hardware store to 11,000 square feet. Expanded the lumber yard to one acre. Expanded parking to 34 spaces.

Current generation family member purchased the store.

Slowly acquired the bakery, hairdresser and pizza parlor and increased the size of the hardware store to 5,000 square feet.

The business was incorporated in October 1976.

The store was built in the early 1970s and officially opened in 1974 with 2,500 square feet of retail space. The store is currently the only hardware store truly run by the SAME family since 1974 in the Yucaipa Basin. Also on the property at that time were a bakery, hairdresser, and pizza parlor, which were later acquired.

Mary and Jim Klocek acquired the property.

The property was purchased by the current owner's grandparents.
